Prospective members must meet the following criteria:

• Be at least 16* years of age.

• Be able to perform physical activities such as lifting.

• Be able to complete the EMT curriculum (we will arrange training at no cost to you).

• Be able to obtain a Professional Level CPR card (we will arrange training at no cost to you).

 *Members aged 16 & 17 are cadets. Full active members are 18.

• You do NOT need to have any prior training or experience before joining us. All training is provided at no cost to you and you will be paired with an experienced crew that will help you get up to speed.

• You do NOT need to be a Bergenfield resident in order to join but we do have a limit on the percentage of out of town members we can accept.
